Do you have specific teaching qualifications?

I hold the degree of Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Otago and a Postgraduate Diploma and a Bachelor of Music from New Zealand School of Music. I have taught extensively at a number of schools including Marlborough College in the UK, Columba College in Dunedin. I also have worked extensively for the education programmes of professional orchestras including Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and Southbank Sinfonia.

Upcoming Performances include playing in the pit orchestra in Carmen in the Napier Art Deco Festival, Concerts with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and a solo recital at St Andrew’s on the Terrace. Can I listen in on my child’s violin lesson?

Absolutely! In fact I encourage it for my younger students. Learning the Violin is not a singular experience. Your child will benefit greatly from knowing that you support them on this adventure!

Is there a discount if i have more than one child wanting to learn with you?

Yes, I do offer a discount for multiple half hour lessons. Two 30 min lessons within the same family are charged as a $55 hour.

Is there somewhere for parents and siblings to wait while lessons are taking place?

Yes – my living room! Make yourself at home in my open plan dining/living room with stunning views of the Brooklyn Turbine and grab yourself a cup of tea! I also have large library to entertain you and your young child.
