Why should the kids have all the fun? Teaching violin lessons for adults is my speciality. Whether you have been secretly longing to play the violin since you were at primary school, used to learn but stopped practicing years ago or have your violin skills up to scratch and want to progress further, I would love to teach you!
Adults, not Children
I approach teaching adults very differently to children, making sure to stretch you intellectually whilst you are learning a new (or old!) skill. After all, throughout your lives, you have certainly had a few years more practice at learning than the children I teach so why should I expect you to learn in the same way?! I carefully select my teaching material for each individual to find the right balance of technical and musical development for each student.
Many of my students choose to sit exams with the Assosicated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or Trinity College of Music. Should you choose to do this, I can guide you thorugh the preparation for the exams including Sightreading, Scales and Aural components in your violin lessons. If you prefer to find your own goals such as performances for friends and family or even learning a certain piece by say the end of June, I am equally happy to teach you! Playing the violin is about more than just exams. Having goals in your music making can be useful for many people but for me, the enjoyment of making music is the most important aspect!
